The programme is aimed at boosting the economic livelihood of women and widows in the society.
Speaking on Sunday during a fund drive organised by Panda Mbegu women group, Mvita MP Abdulswammad Nassir said the programme will help reduce poverty levels among women in the society.
He further added that through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), women can now access loans to enable them start business.
“I am glad to inform women that The Shariff Nassir Foundation in partnership with Red Cross and other stakeholders will soon launch a business venture for vulnerable women within the constituency,” he said.
Nassir also noted that the Mvita Women Sacco that he helped launch a few years back has been able to give out loans in excess of 1 million shillings to women members.Through the foundation, they will soon hold a major fundraising to further empower the Mvita women sacco.
