Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education’s (MPBSE) class 12 pass percentage saw an increase after 4 years.

The MPBSE class 12 2016 results were declared on Thursday by School Education Minister Paras Jain and State Education Minister Deepak Joshi.

Stats over the years:

This year 7,70,884 students appeared for the MP board’s higher secondary school (HSS) examination. The percentage of students that cleared the exam was 69.33, which is an increase of 3.93 percent as compared to last year The pass percentage has never gone above 65 since 2011

The state witnessed the decade’s best pass percentage in the year 2008 with 81 percent

However, the pass percentage since the year 2009 has been about 65; the experts hold the deteriorating academic standards in the state’s schools responsible for this condition

This year, unlike the previous few years, the class 12 topper was a boy, Samyak Jain. Jain topped the board exam by obtaining 488 marks out of 500 with 97.60 percentage

With 73.78 percent, the pass percentage of girls is better than boys. An overall increase of 4.63 was seen in the pass percentage of girls, while that of boys was 65.81, which is 2.51 percent higher than last year

This year’s results showed a decrease in the number of students who have passed the exam by scoring first division. In the year, 2015 about 2.07 lakh students had passed the class 12 board exams with first division, but, this year 2.05 lakh students were able to score 60 percent and above.The pass percentage has never gone above 65 since 2011
