In a closed-door interactive session, Bhagwat was quoted as saying: “Hindus should become empowered and prosperous. They should have affection for others and a sense of responsibility to uplift them. But they should not have the image of a hardliner.”RASHTRIYA SWAYAMSEVAK Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that while the Sangh wants a society where Hindus are empowered, at the same time, its image is not that of a hardliner.
Addressing office-bearers of 36 nagar units of Lucknow Vibhag in the city, Bhagwat asked swayamsevaks not to take any sudden step while reacting to an act and urged them to follow lord Buddha’s message of non-violence.
Speaking about lord Rama and lord Krishna, he said: “Whatever they did was for the sake of religion.”

The RSS chief added that the war in Mahabharata had happened for establishment of ‘dharma’ (religion).
In a closed-door interactive session, Bhagwat was quoted as saying: “Hindus should become empowered and prosperous. They should have affection for others and a sense of responsibility to uplift them. But they should not have the image of a hardliner.”
“The ideology of Hindutva is not against anyone. Hatred and opposition against anyone is not Hindutva… Hindutva is also not a ritual but a philosophy based on spiritualism and truth,” he added.
Claiming that RSS was working to increase India’s popularity across the world, Bhagwat said: “Lekin Bharat Mata ki pooja mein vicharon ki apavitrata nahin aani chahiye (But there should not be any impurity of thoughts during the worship of Bharat Mata).”
“RSS will do nothing except uniting Hindu society. RSS’ swayamsevaks will do everything necessary for Hindu religion, culture and society,” he added.
