Mercedes India commits itself to post-sale service


Mercedes Benz India on Tuesday announced a series of service initiatives as the company expands retail and product portfolio in the country.Roland Folger, MD and CEO of the company, said that enhancing after-sales network’s strength and experience will be a key focus area in the coming time. “Though product introductions will remain important, we increasingly believe that service excellence and hassle-free ownership experience will determine the long-term success of our brand,” he said, after launching a new initiative ‘My Mercedes-My Service’ initiative.The company currently has 84 dealerships across 40 cities. “Service will be the next focus area for the brand. It is the third pillar of growth for Mercedes-Benz India after product and network expansion,” Folger added.The new campaign comprises of three main initiatives – digital service drive, premier express service and offer of innovative service products at competitive prices.On the issue of making use of cleaner fuels, Folger ruled out using bio-diesel to power Mercedes’ cars and other vehicles in India, and clarified that it had never committed to any such possibility in meetings with Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari. “We have meetings on several occasions. We talked about a 100% availability of Bharat Stage-VI in all vehicles with him and his people. He must have misunderstood that as introducing bio-diesel, which at the moment, we have no possibility and no attention to do.”
