A man has been transported to hospital after he was stabbed this morning near Gerrard and Jarvis streets. Toronto police say they received a call Thursday at 7:40 a.m. regarding a stabbing near George Street.

A 33-year-old man reported the stabbing to police and said he was stabbed multiple times in the mid-section.

The victim is conscious and breathing, according to police.

Paramedics say they treated the man for penetrating stab wounds. The victim was taken to a trauma centre in serious condition, according to paramedics. The man’s injuries are not considered life-threatening at this time.
