Toronto police say they responded to the collision on Jane St. near Sheppard Ave. W. on April 10 at 3:28 a.m.
According to police, an Acura 3.2 TL carrying five occupants was southbound on Jane when the driver lost control and struck a second Acura before striking a pole, fence and several trees, flipping the vehicle.
The rollover resulted in four of the occupants to be fully ejected from the vehicle; the fifth was partially ejected, police say.
Three occupants, a 19-year-old man, a 23-year-old man, and a 21-year old woman, were pronounced dead on scene and two others were injured.
Following the collision, Prithvi Randhawa, 22, of Brampton was charged with three counts of criminal negligence causing death, one count of criminal negligence causing bodily harm, three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
In a press release issued Thursday morning, Toronto police stated that Randhawa has been additionally charged with three counts of impaired driving causing death and other impairment-related charges. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
