A Manitoba man is dead following a collision with a semi-trailer, RCMP say.  Two men, both 25, were going home just before midnight on Saturday in the rural municipality of Cornwallis, Man. They were standing on the side of Highway 1 when one of them walked into the driving lane of the semi, which was travelling east.  He was hit and pronounced dead at the scene.  RCMP say a witness and evidence at the scene confirm the semi’s driver, a 37-year-old man, tried to avoid hitting the man.  The driver and the other 25-year-old man were not hurt in the collision. The driver was not impaired, but alcohol is considered to be a factor in the death, RCMP say.
