A 33-year-old man is dead following a collision on the Bannockburn Road in Clyde River, west of Charlottetown Wednesday evening. RCMP say the man, who was travelling south on the road, lost control of his vehicle, crossed over into the oncoming lane and collided with a vehicle coming in the other direction. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two female occupants of the other vehicle were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.

Slippery road conditions may have been a contributing factor in the accident, say RCMP, but the investigation is ongoing.
