A 22-year-old man from Lake Echo is facing charges after Nova Scotia police say he was caught driving 173 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Monday. At 7:33 p.m. Halifax RCMP stopped a driver speeding on Highway 107 near Exit 21. Police say he was driving 73 km/h over the posted speed limit.
The man was charged with stunting, which under the Motor Vehicle Act happens when a driver is caught going more than 50 km/h over the limit.
The driver was issued a $2,422 fine, had his licence suspended for a minimum of seven days and had his vehicle seized.
A 19-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were also in the car.
