The accused, whose identity has been withheld by the police, had come to visit his relative in Wagle Estate area in Thane on June 7 where he managed to befriend two girls in the neighbourhood,
The girls are said to be of age nine and sixAccording to a statement issued by police, the man then managed to bring them home by alluring them to play mobile games and allegedly committed the act. The girls, from two different families, returned to their house and confided in their parents.
They narrated to them the entire incident, police said. Based on the complaint lodged by the parents of the victims, an offence was lodged last night against the accused under IPC section 376 (rape), relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
The accused is currently at large and efforts are on to nab him, the statement said.
