Winnipeg police are looking for a male who allegedly assaulted a 63-year-old man by striking him repeatedly with a skateboard. On Wednesday around 7:40 p.m., the man was in a bus shelter in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue, when he asked the male to either stop smoking or exit the bus shelter.

The male, who was unknown to the victim, responded by knocking him to the ground and assaulting him in the upper body, police say. The male then armed himself with a skateboard and struck the man several times.

Police say the man they are looking for was wearing a grey or navy hoodie and a Toronto Maple Leafs baseball cap at the time of the attack. He was also in possession of a skateboard, investigators say. (Winnipeg Police Service)
