A Glen Burnie woman was stabbed to death Saturday, and Anne Arundel County Police have charged her boyfriend in the assault. Charlotta Lynn Barkley, 46, of the 7800 block of Tall Pines Court suffered severe trauma to her upper body, and died from her injuries early Sunday morning at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. A second woman also suffered injuries to her arms; she was treated for her injuries at BWMC and later released.

Police have charged Michael Carroll Wilson, 42 with murder in the domestic dispute.

Wilson had an on-again off-again relationship with Barkley going back several years, authorities said.

During an argument between Wilson and Barkley in the parking lot of 7800 block of Tall Pines Court, Wilson allegedly a sharp/pointed weapon to inflict multiple injuries on Barkley, police said.

As the assault occurred the second victim tried to intervene, resulting in the injuries to her hand. Wilson then fled the area on foot.

Police have charged Wilson with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, two counts of first- and second-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and two counts of dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

An search by patrol, Air and K-9 units throughout the night spotted Wilson about 8:46 a.m. Sunday. He fled on foot from police, but was soon caught in the 7800 block of Crain Highway South.

Barkley’s body will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
