Mahima Nagpal, daughter of scrap dealer Sanjeev Nagpal, topped (academics list) the Punjab School Education Board Class XII exams. The results were declared today.
A student of RS Model School, Ludhiana, she scored 99.56 per cent in the non-medical stream. Mahima wants to be an IAS officer. Reaching the top was not a cake walk for Mahima. Her family earns about Rs 8,000 a month. So Mahima got scholarship from school. “My father is a matriculate while my mother is XII pass. I never took tuitions,” said an elated Mahima.
Komal Rani from Government Model Sr Secondary School, Patiala, with 99.33 per cent marks and Rhea of RS Model School, Ludhiana, with 98.67 per cent got the second and third positions. Both are science students.
