A journalist working with a Hindi daily was shot dead on Saturday allegedly by three unidentified persons in Bihar’s Sasaram city.

Dharmdendra Singh, in his forties, was pumped three bullets by bike-borne assailants while he was having tea at a shop near his residence around 7.30am.

Singh was referred to Varanasi in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries midway.

Sources said that police have launched a probe into the murder and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.

The murder is the latest in a string of crimes that underline the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar.
