Police constable was killed outside his house in Koil village at around 3:00am when he was leaving his home for duties.A policeman was shot dead by suspected militants outside his home in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday morning.
Constable Khurshid Ahmad Ganai sustained critical injuries in Qoil village of Pulwama when militants attacked him, outside his house in the morning, while he was leaving for duty. He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. “Ganai was a selection grade constable and was killed at 06:15 hours when militants shot at him,” a police officer told The Indian Express.
A wreath laying ceremony for the police constable was held in Pulwama on Saturday.This is the second attack on police in the district this week. On Wednesday, 18 police and paramilitary personnel were injured when unidentified militants lobbed a grenade towards police and CRPF near the Government Degree College Pulwama. Additional Superintendent of Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Station House Officer of Pulwama and a Commanding Officer of CRPF were among the injured in the attack.
On Friday evening, a teenager was killed when forces fired at protestors in Haal area of Pulwama. Shakeel Ahmad Ganai, an undergraduate student was killed when he was hit by a bullet that pierced his heart.
