Chip maker Intel’s next-generation Core processors for PCs, codenamed “Kaby Lake”, will be critical as they look to reconfigure the PC chip business. On track for a late 2016 release, these chips will feature advancements in performance, battery and media handling capabilities. This confirmation should put the market at ease, after the previous two chip releases were delayed. The Kaby Lake processors will be Intel’s third 14-nanometer architecture chips to hit the market, after Broadwell and Skylake. Earlier this year, Intel had announced it was no longer adhering to its “tick-tock” processor release cycle, which saw shrinking chip fabrication processes in one year and building new architectures the next year.
Instagram’s new business tools
Social network Instagram has released a bunch of tools that will help businesses get back data on traction around their advertisements on the platform. These will be available to users who have a business profile. The first feature is Insights, which will give businesses more data on the interaction behaviour and demographics, while the Promote feature will enable businesses to convert a post into an advertisement and add a call-to-action button on any post that is doing well.
