Huawei has reportedly launched the P9 Lite in Germany at a price of €299 (approximately Rs 22,500) and will go on sale next month. It will be available in Black and Gold colour variants.

According to the report, the smartphone features a  5.2-inch full-HD display. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 650 processor paired with 3GB RAM. It includes an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Emotion 4.1 UI on top, the smartphone comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with an 8MP front facing camera. The device sports a fingerprint scanner and includes connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G and microUSB. A 3000mAh battery completes the package.

In comparison, Huawei P9 and P9 Plus both sport a Leica dual 12MP camera setup. Of the two cameras, one camera sensor captures the colour information and the other sensor captures only the black and white and varying levels of gray information. This is similar to what we had seen on the QiKU Q Terra 808. There is no OIS in any of the phones and both have an 8MP front camera.

Kirin 955 chipset powers both the devices. Kirin 955 is a refined version of Kirin 950 and it houses an octa-core processor with one quad-core Cortex A72 cluster clocked at 2.5GHz and the other Cortex A53 quad-core cluster clocked at 1.8GHz.

The Huawei P9 comes with a 5.2-inch full HD display which gives it a 423ppi pixel density. It has an IPS LCD panel. It will come in two variants – the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. Apart from this you get the option to expand the storage by adding in a microSD card as well. It will come with 3,000 mAh battery and a USB Type-C connector.

The Huawei P9 Plus has a larger 5.5-inch full HD display which gives a 401ppi pixel density. The P9 Plus only comes in the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. But the differentiating factor on the P9 Plus is that it comes with 3D Touch which it calls ‘Press Touch’. There is a 3,400mAh battery under the hood.
