After the announcement of Huawei’s new flagship the Honor Note 8, the company also announced a low-end model called the Honor 5 Play. According to GizmoChina, the smartphone is the successor to the Honor 4 Play and has been priced at just $90 (approximately Rs 6,000).Out here in India, Huawei’s cheapest smartphone offering is the Honor Bee that is price at Rs 4,943. It packs in a Spreadtrum chipset clocked at 1.2GHz and comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. While the Honor 5 Play packs in similar specifications, it gets a better processor in the form of the MediaTek MT6735 clocked at 1.3GHz, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage.It too features an 8MP rear camera and 2MP selfie camera, but packs in a 2,200 mAh battery that should work in its favour thanks to the Cortex-A53 cores inside.Huawei also managed to squeeze in 4G bands at this price tag which is a necessity these days.For now, the smartphone is up for sale in China in gold, black and white at CNY 599. Huawei has not given out any details about the device coming to India. But it would make for a good upgrade considering that the next best smartphone from Huawei is the Honor Holly 2 Plus. Ireviewed the smartphone, and it seems to pack in plenty considering its Rs 8,990 price tag. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes close and offers plenty more at Rs 9,999. Lenovo’s Vibe K5 Plus is no slouch either at Rs 8,499. Closer to the Honor 5 Play is Lenovo’sVibe P1m that now retails for Rs 6,999 offers a better deal with a bigger 4,000mAh battery.
