Housefull 3, the third installment of the Housefull franchise, has taken off to a fantastic start at the box office. The movie, which released on June 3, witnessed a huge occupancy during the evening and night shows after a decent start earlier in the day. The movie, which featured an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, Lisa Haydon, Nargis Fakhri and Abhishek Bachchan, has collected a whopping Rs 15.21 cr. at the box office on the first day of its release itself.
After Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan, which collected Rs 19.20 cr. on the first day, Sajid Nadiadwala’s comedy franchise has now grabbed the second position in the list of movies with highest opening day business of 2016 beating Akshay Kumar’s Airlift which made Rs 12.35 cr. and Tiger Shroff-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Baaghi with Rs 11.94 cr. at the box office.
The movie which saw the return of slapstick humour, seems to have managed to tickle the audience with its funny gags and punchlines. It was released across 3700 screens in India and 670 screens overseas.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared Housefull 3 movie box office collections on Twitter.
The solo release factor has surely benefitted the movie in terms of its box office numbers and has emerged as a clear winner. While the film will collect moolah on the weekend, whether it will run ‘Housefull’ till the end of next week is something that its content will ultimately decide. Let’s wait and see if the makers will be third time lucky and laugh their way to the bank this time too.
