Anger has swept across the Kashmir valley after a hostel warden thrashed underprivileged tribal girl students injuring over a dozen, six of them seriously at the Gujjar and Bakerwal hostel Srinagar.
Police have registered a case against the warden, Dr Shabnum, while the director of school education Kashmir, Dr Shah Faesal, has placed her under suspension pending enquiry.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening when Dr Shabnum asked the minor students to mop the floors and clean the rooms, including a dining hall. Students’ alleged that the warden thrashed more than dozen students by a stick. Eight girls received wounds; two of them suffered fractures in their arms.
