Hema Malini to play Balakrishna’s mother in Krrish film

Hema Malini is all set to appear in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s prestigious 100th movie Gouthami Putra Sathakarni. Since Sridevi played the role of a queen in Vijay’s period film Puli, filmmakers have been looking out for yesteryear heroines to bring in novelty to the period genre.
According to Balakrishna, Gouthami Putra Sathakarni was named after his mother and the story is often linked to the matriarchal society in ancient times. If everything goes well, Hema Malini will portray the powerful mother character. Given his dialogue writing prowess, this could be a landmark film in the career of the senior actress.

Balayya, as he is popularly called, confirmed to the media that Hema Malini will play his mother. He said that she will play the role of Gautami Balashri, Satakarni’s mother in the film. Nayanthara and Kajal Agarwal were under consideration for the female lead role but Balayya has now said that they are also speaking to Bollywood heroines now.

Director Krish, who has just won a National Award, has reportedly been working hard on this script to make it a period entertainer. This prestigious movie will be launched on April 22 at Annapurna Studios at 10:27 am. Balakrishna has already invited Chief Ministers of both the Telugu states and directors of his 99 films. Those free on this day will make it to the grand occasion. This film will be produced by Rajiv Reddy, Bibo Srinivas and Sai Babu under First Frame Entertainment.
