Heavy rains lashed Delhi and NCR on Monday night. Thunderstorm with light rain is likely to occur over some areas of Delhi and NCR during next two hours, the Meteorological Department has predicted.
However, according to the Meteorological Department, monsoon is expected to reach Delhi by July 1.
Weather in Delhi has remained warm and humid during the past couple of days. Though rain bearing clouds could be seen hovering over the capital since Sunday evening. As per the weather bureau, rainfall in Delhi will increase throughout the month.The maximum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 39.6 and the minimum settled at 30 degrees Celsius yesterday.
Important roads like Munirka Flyover, Ring Road near Hyatt Hotel, the road near Kalkaji flyover close to the temple, inner roads of Vasant Vihar, Vasant Kunj, New Friends Colony, Greater Kailash-I are still in a dismal condition.
Heavy rains also lashed some parts of Himachal Pradesh yesterday as monsoon remained active in the lower hilly areas of the state.
The southwest monsoon will get aggressive in Himachal Pradesh with the weather bureau predicating heavy rainfall at some places in the state this week.
Several parts of Delhi witnessed water-logging and traffic snarls due to heavy rainfall.
