Hayden Panettiere was spotted in New York City on Monday after seeking treatment in Utah for postpartum depression. She has a child with fiancé Wladimir Klitschko.
But the 26-year-old actress was not wearing her engagement ring.
The blonde – who is supposed to return to her TV show Nashville this year now that it has a new home on CMT – was seen smoking a cigarette on a stoop while reading the book Underboss: Sammy The Bull Gravano’s Story Of Life In The Mafia.
This is the first time the actress has been seen since May when she was in Utah.
The actress appeared healthy as she went makeup free and kept it casual with a blue flannel shirt and leggings as she relaxed outside with the book in hand. She also donned a pair of boots and had a light pink purse slung across her body.
‘The postpartum depression I have been experiencing has impacted every aspect of my life,’ she wrote in a statement, tweeted out in May.
‘Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life. Wish me luck!’ she added.
The announcement in May came seven months after she admitted herself to a rehab facility to treat the disorder.
The Heroes actress has been very open about her battle with depression since the birth of her daughter Kaya in December 2014 with fiance Wladimir, 40.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Style Hayden said that she felt there was an unfortunate stigma around the disorder, saying anyone who thought women should just ‘suck it up’ just doesn’t understand it.
‘It’s like, you have no idea what you’re talking about,’ she said of people who question postpartum depression.
‘If you think for one second that a mother wants to feel that way toward her child, you’re outta your mind. It is one of the most debilitating, scary, guilty feelings that you can ever feel.
‘That a mother would not be able to connect with their child, would not be able to get a grip, or would not know what’s going on, for anybody to say that it’s false or created by us, you must have your head examined,’ she added.
Meanwhile, Nashville fans were crushed when ABC canceled the hit country show in May.
But now devotees can rejoice as the series was picked up by CMT and will return for a fifht season, EW reported last week.
Connie Britton, 49, and Hayden along with other core cast members, will bring back more drama on the small screen, according to the publication.
While most fan favorites are returning, the publication revealed that Will Chase and Aubrey Peeples will not be reprising their roles as Luke Wheeler and Layla Grant.
The beloved series, which was averaging about 7 million viewers per week, was canceled by ABC after a four-season run in May.
The popular musical show, which launched in 2012, was rescued later by CMT which is now confirmed to broadcast the fifth season while Hulu will then stream the episodes the following day.
Meanwhile, the fourth season’s finale concluded with a plane crash cliffhanger leaving Nashville fans furious.
