“अतुलितबलधामं हेमशैलाभदेहं
दनुजवनकृशानुं ज्ञानिनामग्रगण्यं।।
सकलगुणनिधानं वानराणामधीशं
रघुपतिप्रियभक्तं वातजातं नमामि।।
ऊं हनुमते नम: ध्यानार्थे पुष्पाणि सर्मपयामि।।“

It is said that Hanuman is present where the stories of Lord Rama are recited. Therefore, people read the ‘Ramacharitmanas’ on the day of Hanuman Jayanti to please Hanuman.
