Guru Ravidass’s Temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh is the ultimate place of pilgrimage or religious headquarters for followers of the Ravidasi religion. Established on June 14, 1965, the temple was actually the birthplace of Guru Ravidass. It is believed that Guru Ravidass used to live and do bhakti at this place. Today, the temple has more than 200 kilos of gold, which comprises a palaki, earthen lamp, an umbrella and a pot.
The temple was recently visited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then by Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal
