An argument outside a north Queensland home has ended with a 19-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man suffering shrapnel wounds when a man allegedly fired a gun at them.
Detective Senior Constable Belinda West said three people pulled up in a car outside the house in the Townsville suburb of Kelso around 9pm on Sunday and a fight broke out.
One man, who was known to the victims, fired a gun as they retreated back inside the house after the argument with the bullets ricocheting off a fence and hitting them, causing minor shrapnel wounds.
Det Snr Const West said police have identified a person of interest, but were still not clear on the identities of the other two people in the car, described as a small hatchback.7
