The Rs 1,952-crore project, cleared by the cabinet committee on economic affairs, is a new formation of the missing link at national highway 131A to national highway 133B, connecting Sahibganj in Jharkhand to Manihari in Bihar.
The stretch includes a four-lane bridge on the Ganga. At present, there is a missing link at the location as there is no bridge on the Ganga.
“Project will help expedite the improvement of infrastructure in Bihar and Jharkhand and also reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying in the area in these states. The development of this stretch will also help uplift the socio-economic condition of this region,” a government release said.
