Budget carrier GoAir has announced low all-inclusive fares starting as low as Rs 736. Bookings under the GoAir offer – applicable on travel between January 9, 2017 and March 31, 2017 – started from November 21 and are valid till November 24. GoAir has not disclosed the number of tickets under the offer.
Wadia group-promoted GoAir last month announced that its fleet size would be increased to 26 by the end of this fiscal year from 21 at present as the budget carrier is looking to fly on international routes from 2017.
Other carriers like SpiceJet, Vistara, IndiGo, AirAsia India and Jet Airways have also come up with promotional offers to lure customers. Promotional offers by airlines have spurred a strong demand for air travel in India, which is among the fastest growing aviation markets in the world.
GoAir’s offer is similar to recent scheme by SpiceJet and IndiGo. Both the carriers have announced tickets starting Rs 737.
Passengers carried by domestic airlines during January-October 2016 surged to 813.70 lakh, a growth of over 23 per cent over the same period last year.
