Girl’s murder: Day after, two suspects rounded up


Two suspects, including a 20-year-old youth staying in the neighborhood of the 11-year-old girl, Priyanka, who was found murdered at Ralla village in Sector 12, Panchkula, yesterday, have been rounded up by the police.
The minor’s body was found lying in a pool of blood at the house of a neighbour, Rajpal, who was also questioned by the police.
The victim had stab marks on her neck and near the chest. She was also hit with a brick on her head.
Sources said a youth, residing in the victim’s neighborhood, and his uncle had been rounded up. The suspects were being questioned by the police.
The victim’s postmortem was conducted today by a board of doctors at the General Hospital, Sector 6.
In addition to the two prime suspects rounded up by the police, at least 10 other people were also questioned by the police.
A police official said the case was under investigation and nothing could be disclosed at the moment.
The victim was alone in the house and was last seen around 9.30 am. Later in the afternoon, two sons of victim’s neighbour Rajpal found the body in their house after returning from school.
The sources said the accused probably murdered the victim in Rajpal’s house to mislead the police.
