The Gionee S6 Pro supports split screen rendering on the screen when viewed through the dedicated VR headset, much like how it is on some of the recently launched Lenovo phones. The phone and VR headset “allow the user to watch a video already playing while they receive notifications from other apps,” according to Gionee. The phone also comes pre-bundled with Gionee’s own VR app that has an in-built G-Store for games and videos fine-tuned for VR.
The S6 Pro boasts of a full-metal unibody and a front-mounted fingerprint scanner. It comes with a 5.5-inch FullHD IPS display and 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla glass protection. The phone is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor clubbed with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory which is further expandable by up to 128GB via microSD card.
It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX258 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, autofocus and LED flash. On the front you get an 8-megapixel camera with screen flash. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Amigo 3.2 and is backed by a 3,130mAh battery.
“The S6 Pro is a perfect amalgamation of style and performance and is designed for the urbane selfie generation. With the S6 Pro we are re-emphasising our commitment towards our consumers to offer feature led innovative devices,” Arvind R Vohra, MD & Country CEO, Gionee India said.
