The Gidderbaha police on Wednesday evening nabbed a man travelling in a car with 100-gm opium and 260-gm intoxicant powder. The accused is Ajaib Singh of Sirsa, who resides in Gidderbaha. Meanwhile, the police intercepted another car with red beacon that had a star on a red plate. They are verifying whether the driver was using it illegally. The car reportedly belonged to Ajaib’s brother.
2nd phase of e-governance
Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal on Thursday finalised the second phase of e-governance initiative of providing 351 online citizen services under the Right to Service Act. Kaushal said this process would soon become operational. Citizens would be able to fill online forms, make payment online and get the delivery of certificates at home and the applications would be processed electronically by the department officials.
Rape accused nabbed
The police on Thursday arrested Sunny of Ramdev Nagar here who had allegedly raped a minor Dalit girl on Monday. The nine-year-old differently abled girl had told her parents that Sunny, who had got married in Sangria a few months ago, took her to a nearby field and raped her.
