It has been three years since Ford launched the EcoSport compact SUV in India. While the company has been regularly adding/deleting features from this compact SUV, there have been no major changes until earlier this year when the 100PS diesel engine was introduced. Ford also slashed nearly Rs 1 lakh off the asking price of the EcoSport in India. Currently the car is available with a choice of a 121PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol, 1.5-litre 112PS petrol and 100PS diesel engines. There is also the choice of dual-clutch automatic and manual transmissions.
Globally, the Ford EcoSport facelift has been spotted testing multiple times. The main changes that one can see are the revised bumpers and the lack of a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. It is likely that the facelift will make its way down to the Indian market sometime next year. Expect the same engines to continue, albeit with a minor increase in efficiency.
