Samsung earlier this year launched Galaxy On5 Pro and On7 Pro in India, now the company is teasing ‘The Next On’, Galaxy On8, on online shopping website Flipkart. The teaser has appeared just a few days ahead of Flipkart’s shopping festival Big Billion Days sale, which starts on Oct 2. So Samsung is likely to launch the phone on the same day.
The teaser on Flipkart doesn’t reveal much about the Galaxy On8, however, it says that the phone will sport a Super AMOLED screen with Full HD display of 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. It also says that the Galaxy On8 smartphone will have 3GB RAM and a “long lasting battery”.
According to reports, the Galaxy On8 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor running at 1.5GHz.
Samsung had launched On5 Pro and On7 Pro in India in July. The phones were priced at Rs 9,190 and Rs 11,190, respectively. The Galaxy On8 is also expected to priced at around this range.
Samsung’s On series smartphones have features like S Bike mode, Ultra Data Saving, Turbo speed charging and more. We also expect the On8 to have these features.
Samsung had also launched On7 (2016) in China last week. The phone comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The On7 (2015) has been priced at CNY 1,599 (approximately Rs 16,000).
India’s largest online market Flipkart registered 100 million users last week, the first in India. The company will hold its flagship shopping festival, Big Billion Days sale, from Oct 2 to Oct 6. Flipkart has gained 25 million users in less than six months. It had 75 million registered users in March this year.
