The title song of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directed the film, Mirzya, released on Thursday and from the visuals it looks like the Hindi film industry will tell a tale of love which has been missing from the industry for quite some time. The director who gave us films like Rang De Basanti, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Delhi 6 will now tell us the famous folklore of Mirzya- Sahiba, with a twist.
After hearing the complete song, we can tell you that flute playing alongside the voices of Daler Mehndi, Shankar Mahadevan and Sain Zahoor is addictively soothing. Mirzya will soon become one of those tunes that you would like to begin their days with and listen again before going to bed.
Starring Harshvardhan Kapoor, son of actor Anil Kapoor, Saiyami Kher and Anuj Chaudhary, the film takes us back to the land of Rajasthan. We get both glimpses of a man riding a horse and a man playing polo.
” In my film, we play out the folklore, as such, so there’s one part of the story and then the folklore in a way kind of resonates and echoes and lands on today’s time… you know the essence of it. And mostly it plays out, I would say like a good 70% of it plays out now in contemporary Rajasthan ( in 2016) with contemporary actors,” director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra said in an exclusive chat.
