Fire erupted at Pakistan International Airline’s precision engineering department at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Saturday morning.
Fire broke out in the Precision Engineering Department at Karachi, said Pakistan International Airlines spokesperson Daniyal Gillani. Efforts are being made to extinguish it, he added. No loss of life has been reported.

A few hours later, the fire was brought under control. “Damage assessment would be possible after the place cools down,” Gilani added.
“As per preliminary investigation, fire was caused by short circuit,” the spokesperson added. Further, PIA chairman Azam Saigol ordered inquiry into the incident.
The precision engineering department manufactures spare parts of airplanes and other industries.
On Friday, a fire broke out at a major shopping centre located in the Karachi’s Clifton neighbourhood.

Firefighters, however, put out the blazes. No casualty was reported in the incident.
Initially, social media reports suggested the fire erupted at the food court on third floor of the Dolmen Mall in Clifton.
