Facebook has plans to make your birthday celebrations more engaging. The social media giant is rolling out a feature called Birthday Recap Videos, which like the Memories video feature, has a preset birthday theme including birthday-related content extracted from the user’s account.
Birthday Recap Videos are 45-second videos that will appear on top of a user’s Facebook wall a day after the user’s birthday. The video will show a collection of top wall posts that users receive on their birthday. It will also includes images and text comments.

The videos will start with a colourful cake followed by the showcase of other related content. It is possible to edit the video along with the comments before sharing it with others. However, to get the Birthday Recap Videos, users need to receive a minimum of three Facebook posts on their birthdays.
In the past few months, Facebook seems to have increased its focus on videos. The company recently rolled out several upgrades to its Live Videos. One of the latest addition was that People and Page administrators on Facebook will be able to broadcast up to four hours of video with Facebook Live — in both full-screen and video-only mode.
The company this month also started testing its offline video feature in India. The feature lets users save videos in the ‘Saved’ section inside the app itself. These saved videos can be viewed offline as many times as users want. As per the website, Facebook would not let users download the videos directly on the device storage in order to make them stick with the social media service.
