The Verge confirmed the same with Facebook commenting, “To celebrate Mother’s Day, we are testing the ability for people in a few markets to leave a flower reaction,” the company said in a statement.”
This also happens to be the first time the company has offered a temporary reaction. As of now it is unclear as to where Facebook will make the flower emoji reaction available. The same source also confirmed that the US will not be on that list as well.
As for what happens after Mother’s Day? Well, Facebook seems to have thought about this as well. The temporary flower reaction will simply not be available after the day passes. But the reactions will keep showing up on the older posts where ever they were added.
The social media giant earlier announced that it wants to celebrate Mother’s Day with all women across the world by releasing new stickers and flowers. The flower icon will be accessible between 7 and 9 May.
