Dr. Asmat Ullah wonded in Peshawar firing incident

Professor Dr. Asmat Ullah of Hayatabad Medical Complex sustained serious injuries when unidentified armed men opened fire at him in Hayatabad area today morning.

According to police sources, the Doctor was on his way to hospital for duty when some unidentified armed men opened fire at him in which he was injured. The attackers managed to flee from the scene.

He was shifted to the hospital in critical condition, according to doctors present at the hospital.

After the incident all the doctors boycotted services in all departments of the hospital except emergency services.

As the news about the attack spread, a large number of doctor’s fraternity reached the hospital and protested against the police.

Addressing a press conference at the hospital the president of young doctors association, Dr Shah Sawar condemned the attack on Dr. Asmatullah and demanded the government to provide protection to senior doctors.

The association president also announced to boycott all their work in various departments of the hospital except the emergency services while he has also convened general body meeting to discuss the next strategy.
