Dev Chandigarh maintained its position at the top with a 17-under- 415 at the end of the third round in the ongoing Louis Philippe Pro Golf League being played the KGA Golf Course in Bengaluru.Both Amardip Malik and Himmat Rai finished the day with two-under 70 to hang on to a comfortable five-shot lead over NSports Hyderabad, which came up with a spectacular double display to jump from the seventh place to the second position.Gaganjeet Bhullar shot a brilliant six-under 66, while his teammate Ajeetesh Sandhu produced an equally sensational five-under 67 to propel Hyderabad aggregate to 12-under 420. Bhullar sank birdies on 1st, 5th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 14th and 17th holes and a lone bogey on the 18th, while Sandhu shot birdies on 2nd, 8th, 10th, 11th, 13th and 18th holes. The only blemish of the day for the golfer was a bogey on the 9th.”I had not been hitting well and something like this was needed. There was less pressure on the greens and that helped my game. It was all about striking today,” Bhullar said after the day’s play.Shiv Chowrasia led Take Chennai, meanwhile, came up with the day’s second best card, a five-under 139, to share the second spot with Hyderabad.Aided by Khalin Joshi’s three-under 69, Chennai moved up from the fourth place to joint second at the end of the third round.Joshi shot birdies on 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 11th holes, but had two bogeys on the 4th and 10th holes. Rai, who is sharing the second individual leaderboard position with Sri Lanka’s Mithun Perera, said: “I did well on the back nine. I bogeyed the last hole, but overall it was a good fight.”Abhijit Chadha of Zion Hills Bengaluru remained on top of the leader board with a one-under 71 in the third round. The fourth and final round of the tournament will be played tomorrow.
