At the sixth edition of India Runway week, Designer Varija Bajaj celebrated womanhood by paying an ode to them through her ‘Pagdi’ collection.
The collection at Thyagaraja Stadium saw the models wearing the traditional Indian headgear ‘pagdi’. Though, Varija was quite apprehensive about the step, she wanted to do it. She said, “There were lot of apprehensions and concerns but I knew I had to do this. For once…it wasn’t about making others happy but my own self”.
And do you know who the star of the evening was?
It was a 16 year old cancer patient, Chesi Anne Basil. Click on the slides ahead to know about Chessi and her undying spirit.
‘Make-A-Wish’ Foundation, which works towards fulfilling the wishes of children who are less than 17 years in age and are going through life threatening diseases, approached Varija.
Chesi, one of their children, who suffers from cancer, had two wishes.
