A leader of the erstwhile Janata Parivar, Naik is a vocal critic of the cow vigilantes. Recently, she was in Chikkamagaluru district to condemn the attack on Dalits, who were beaten up by Hindu activists for consuming beef. She received a letter from Sunil Sharma, a resident of Chikkamagaluru, accusing her of being anti-Hindu.
“Sunil Sharma has used expletives against me in the letter. He has also said that people like me deserved death,” Naik, who is in Dharwad in north Karnataka, told the local media. She is yet to lodge a police complaint against Sunil Sharma for
