Dalit couple in UP hacked to death with an axe over a debt of Rs 15


A Dalit couple was hacked to death with an axe, allegedly by a shopkeeper in their village in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. What led to the gruesome killing was an argument over Rs. 15.

The shopkeeper, Ashok Mishra, who had a grocery store in Mainpur, has been arrested.

The couple allegedly owed Rs. 15 to him.

When they went to the store at around 6 am this morning, there was an argument over the money.

Mr Mishra allegedly took an axe and attacked the couple. Both died on the spot
