Montreal police are looking for several suspects after shots were fired on a busy downtown street, leaving one man injured. Police say several 911 calls came in at once Wednesday evening, at around 6:50 p.m.
Witnesses reported seeing a group of people getting in a fight on Crescent Street, between Ste-Catherine Street and René Lévesque Boulevard.
They said shots were fired.
When police arrived on the scene, they saw bullet casings on the ground. Investigators set up a perimeter and searched for victims and suspects.
One man was apprehended a few blocks away. Police said he may be “a possible suspect.”
About 30 minutes later, police were informed that a man with bullet wounds admitted himself to a hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening. He will be questioned by police.
