Four people were sent to hospital Sunday after the vehicle they were in smashed through a fence and collided with the corner of a garage. At about 7 a.m., a van travelling northbound on Arlington Street hit a pole before crashing into a fence and garage at the corner of Winnipeg Avenue, police said.

Three passengers were taken to hospital and later released. The driver required surgery after injuries sustained to her wrist and left leg, police said.  Police said alcohol and speed were not factors. No charges have been laid.
