“Whatever it is, I will say that it was breach of security, it was breach of privilege of the Parliament. And on the basis of both an action needs to be taken,” said Yechury. “The BJP has majority in the Lok Sabha; it is their government at the Centre. Why has the Centre not taken any action against him since tomorrow? The government must answer,” he added.
The AAP MP had posted a video of Parliament’s security positions and details on the social media on Thursday. Mann, however, clarified his act after severe criticism from the opposition parties. “My only intention was to tell the procedure (during the Zero Hour). I have done nothing to risk the security of the Parliament,” he said.
However, Parliamentarians were not impressed by Mann’s defense and they strongly criticized his actions.
Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha insisted that action be taken against Bhagwant Mann. Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman too expressed displeasure over Mann’s action and said “Bhagwant Mann made a statement that he will do it again. Government will do what it has to do.” JD(U) also asked Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal to reprimand Mann for shooting the video.
