Intense storm activity capsized four catamarans on Lake Ontario over the weekend, forcing local police and fire departments to come to the rescue. Halton Regional Police say powerful winds overturned the boats on Sunday and tossed at least four people into the water.
Halton police dispatched its marine unit, which was assisted by rescue boats from the Peel and Hamilton police forces.
A coast guard auxiliary unit and the Burlington Fire Department were also involved in the rescue.
Everyone who ended up in the water had a life jacket and was picked up safely.
