A Goulburn police officer received stitches to his eyebrow after a woman allegedly thrust a glass at his face in a licensed venue on Wednesday night. Police say the 39-year-old woman became verbally abusive to officers from the Hume Local Area Command after they approached her and asked her to leave the Auburn Street premises shortly after 10pm.
They allege the woman thrust a glass in the face of a male Sergeant when attempting to walk away from police.
The officer was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance before being taken to Goulburn Base Hospital for stitches.
The woman was taken to Goulburn Police Station and charged with wounding a person with intent to resist arrest and failing to leave a premises when required.
She was refused bail and will face Goulburn Local Court on Thursday.
