Congress leader shot at in Hyderabad


A local Congress leader in Bowenpally, was shot using a gun by unknown assailants on Saturday and the incident was caught in CCTV camera located near by the scene of offence.
Bowenpally police said that Yadagiri,50, was shifted to hospital and his condition is critical since he suffered six rounds of bullets opened by the assailants. Police are suspecting that land dispute could be the motive behind the murderous attack.
It was around 10.30 am Yadagiri had an argument with the assailants, who immediately opened fire and despite suffering injuries, Yadagiri retaliated and escaped to hide in a building and later since the assailants entered the same building, he escaped from there and reached near by police station, from where he was shifted to a hospital.
Police said that the condition of Yadagiri is critical and surgery is being done. Yadagiri’s daughter Amulaya contested as corporator in the last Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election as a Congress candidate and lost the election. As of now a case was registered under 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC. Police are suspecting the role of rowdysheeter behind the murderous attack.
