The police have booked four persons, including a Congress leader, who was also the former chairman of the Market Committee, Muktsar, for allegedly kidnapping a six-year-old boy of Attari village near here.In the statement to the police, Kuljit Kaur, mother of Lakhwinder Singh, alias Gopi, alleged that her son was playing outside on Friday evening when four persons, including her brother-in-law Baj Singh, kidnapped him.She alleged that she had taken Rs 3 lakh from Baj Singh, which was yet to be returned. Acting on her statement, the police have booked Baj Singh, Raja Singh, Chamkaur Singh and Mehar Singh, former chairman of the Market Committee, Muktsar.However, efforts are on to trace the boy. The victim’s family and the police are also keeping an eye over the Gang canal as they fear that the boy might have been thrown into it.
