The gala will also feature a musical tribute to the Thin White Duke. Former Dexter lead Michael C. Hall, who starred in Bowie’s off-Broadway musical Lazarus, will perform an undisclosed song to commemorate the artist. Bowie died Jan. 10 just two days after the release what turned out to be his final album, Blackstar.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America awards annually recognize “outstanding contributions” made to U.S. fashion. This year’s gala will be staged in Bowie’s adopted hometown, New York City.

Lady Gaga’s stylist Brandon Maxwell is nominated for the Swarovski Award for Womenswear and Jennifer Hudson, who recently departed The Color Purple on Broadway, will deliver the final performance on the night.
